Dr. Utica J. Gray joined Lumity in Autumn 2026 as Executive Director. She has deep roots in Chicago’s nonprofit community with more than 25 years of distinguished leadership experience. Dr. Gray has led strategic planning initiatives, secured transformational philanthropic investments, strengthened organizational infrastructure, cultivated cross-sector partnerships, and guided organizations through periods of growth and change.
Her stated mission as Lumity’s new Executive Director is to steward and deepen existing relationships, cultivate new partnerships, and expand the organization’s reach and impact throughout Chicagoland. Dr. Gray’s ultimate goal is ensuring that more young people, regardless of their background or circumstances, have the knowledge, skills, relationships, and opportunities they need to realize their fullest potential and thrive in STEM careers.
