Born in Chicago’s Wicker Park and raised on Chicago’s South Side, Steven Ballard comes to Lumity to do as his upbringing dictates and pay it forward. Steven graduated from Hampton University with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration. From there, he proceeded to see the world by teaching in China, South Korea, and Thailand and studying at Oxford. While back in the States, Steven discovered a true love for serving others. Steven joined the world of non-profits, working with two non-profit organizations dealing with immigrant and refugee services and one dedicated to reframing the black narrative through digitizing black archives.
Steven is proud to join Lumity and support its mission to provide opportunities for those in the world who have written a specific narrative. He will join Lumity as the new Employment Specialist under the Youth Build Program.
