Only six months into her job at Pactiv, Lumity graduate Jaquisha Carr has already received a promotion. Not only has her salary increased, but she is also applying her new skills to fix broken machinery and help co-workers troubleshoot technical problems as they arise.
A 2019 John Marshall High School graduate, Jaquisha didn’t know what she wanted to do immediately after school. She wasn’t ready to go to college right away and was looking for support to transition into a good entry-level job at a respected company.
“I liked how Lumity helps new graduates prepare for the real world,” Jaquisha explains. “I learned a lot about myself in the program—how to work with others to get things done, how to control my emotions, and have a good attitude, how to introduce myself and talk about my skills in an interview.”
With her new job and promotion only six months after graduating from the pre-apprenticeship program, Jaquisha’s new skills and hard work are already paying off!
