With gratitude, The Lumity Team Programs At-A-Glance With all of our programs, participants can earn as they learn, receive support, build skills, earn certifications, gain confidence, and prepare for successful futures. YouthBuild Proviso Township YouthBuild is a free program for young people ages 17–24 who want to build a future in construction while earning their GED. Participants receive classroom instruction, hands-on training, and mentorship, and learn practical skills such as operating power tools, interpreting blueprints, and building staircases. Graduates leave with industry certifications and a clear next step toward employment or further training. Classes are held in Maywood. Next cohort begins January 2026. Career Launch Career Launch is a free program for recent high school graduates who want to explore careers in high-growth fields, including healthcare, technology, manufacturing, transportation, and renewable energy. Through a mix of classroom learning and real-world site visits, participants gain job-readiness skills, hands-on experience, and access to certifications such as OSHA 30, CDL, forklift, and healthcare credentials. Classes are held in Chicago. Next cohort begins February 2, 2026 Construction & Trades Pathway Designed for young adults ready to enter the skilled trades, this pre-apprenticeship program blends hands-on training with classroom instruction to prepare participants for registered apprenticeships. Open to Illinois residents (18+), with an emphasis on women, people of color, and veterans, the program offers industry-recognized certifications, mentorship, career coaching, and financial stipends. Classes are held in Maywood. Next cohort begins March 2026 |
