Last month, students from Amundsen High School visited Walgreens, a new corporate partner in Lumity’s STEM career readiness program. Throughout the day, employees spoke about their different positions and responsibilities at the company, showed them around the office and worked together on a real-world project to encourage teamwork and problem-solving skills.Jazmine Camchaco, a junior at Amundsen, said, “I really enjoyed the Walgreens trip. I got to see so many people who have a career they enjoy. I enjoyed walking around to see each job category. I also was amazed at how well my classmates and I worked together to create a mock Apple Watch app.”
“My favorite part of the Walgreens field trip was seeing the different careers,” said Ashley Estrada, also a junior. “Each person had a unique job and way of doing things. Every day is something new and enjoyable for each person at Walgreens.”
