Michael has lived in Chicago for most of his adult life after receiving an undergraduate degree in sociology and psychology from the University of Illinois and an MBA from Vanderbilt University. He spent the first decade of his career as a marketing and sales executive and volunteered with youth as a coach and tutor. He then made a career switch to education, where he owned and ran several education companies, including a tutoring company, an educational publishing business, a youth makerspace, and an ed tech firm. Michael joined Lumity in 2023 and is using his vast experience in business and education to create engaging programs for the youth Lumity serves to give them renewed hope and a pathway to STEM careers.
